TOPAfter organizing the Belgian Mountain Bike Championships for three consecutive years, the CITY OF MALMEDY and MALMEDY MOUNTAIN TROPHY were looking for a new direction. It was therefore logical to go up one step in the hierarchy of UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) events and apply for the hosting and organization of an international race labeled “Classe 1” (C1). The Belgian Cycling Federation (RLVB) and the UCI had authorized the holding of such an event already in 2010 and has now done so for 2012 as well! The international competition will be held on Saturday, May 26 and on Sunday, May 27 . The course in Malmedy, recognized by the COIB (Belgian Olympic and Interfederal Committee) as official training course for the Olympic Games in London the same year, has proved itself over the last years and remains unchanged. It is 100% natural and incorporates all the ingredients of a modern mountain bike course. As in the past, this international competition will be mainly organized by the city of Malmedy, the RLVB, the UCI, Malmedy Mountain Trophy and Impact Diffusion. Start and Finish will be at the area of the Malmedy Expo center, which will also be the hotspot of the event. Please note these dates in your agenda! The entrance for spectators is free.
